A Quick Break

So ends the third quarter of my second year at varsity. How time flies. And the time will continue to fly: we are only getting a week break. A so-called “study week”. Meh.

Today had one of the best beginnings of the year. We had to give poster presentations at the Physics department. Nothing fancy, just show “what we have learned”. When we walked into the tea room we were greeted by dozens of muffins and cups of coffee and tea. The Physics people came in, had a look around and we all chatted for the duration of the hour and a half. Physicists are generally the mellower group of scientists. When all was said and done, we were as relaxed as cats on a warm windowsill.

I’m packing up and moving out of my home here at Stellenbosch. I’m going to try to negotiate living here (with rent) sometime next week, but who knows what’s going to happen. It’s going to be bad if I can’t continue to stay here, because I’ve just gotten into the swing of things, socially and otherwise.

Plans for the holiday are just seeing some old friends. Nothing fancy, I just need to relax and unwind.
